U.S. Film and Television Actor – Cristian de la Fuente

Cristián de la Fuente, born March 10, 1974, in Santiago, Chile, is a Chilean television actor who has gone on to make a name for himself in U.S. film and television.

De la Fuente was spotted by a talent scout during his sophomore year as a civil engineering major at Santiago’s Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and won a contest as Chile’s next Super Teen.

Beginning with small network roles in primetime, De La Fuente quickly went on to star in four primetime dramas including Eclipse de Luna and the highly acclaimed televised theatrical production of La Tia de Carlos. De La Fuente starred in Chile’s number-one rated variety program Venga Conmigo, the comedy Mi Tio y Yo (My Uncle and Me) and the MTV-style music and dance program Generation 2000.

In 1998, De la Fuente was contracted by Sony and Telemundo for a drama series remake of Starsky and Hutch called Reyes y Rey. The weekly hour format did not catch on with hispanic viewers and it was soon cancelled. He was a guest star on Pensacola: Wings of Gold. He has also appeared regularly on CSI: Miami and Family Law. He has starred opposite Sylvester Stallone in Driven, in John Carpenter’s Vampires: Los Muertos with Jon Bon Jovi, as well as the independent thriller Minimal Knowledge.

De La Fuente’s hosting credits include MGM’s Road to the Oscars for Latin America and the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade. He has also presented at the Latin Billboard Awards, The World Music Awards and the Alma Awards.

In 2005, De La Fuente starred in the Venevisión’s Miami-made telenovela “Soñar No Cuesta Nada” and had appeared in popular American TV series such as “The Class”, “Ugly Betty”, and “CSI: Miami”, just to name a few. In 2007, he landed a role in the upcoming movie “Love and Virtue”.

He is fluent in both English and Spanish, carries a pilot’s license and is an officer in the Reserves for the Chilean Air Force.

New Zealand Actor – Karl Urban

Karl Urban, born June 7, 1972, is a New Zealand actor, best known for playing the menacing killer hired to take Bourne out in The Bourne Supremacy.

Urban is also known for playing Éomer, in the second and third films of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings film trilogy based on the books by J. R. R. Tolkien.

Some of his earlier work included roles on New Zealand soap Shortland Street, which apparently interrupted his planned attendance of Victoria University of Wellington, and a guest role on the second season of police drama Shark in the Park.

Urban was seen on the internationally syndicated American television shows Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys in which he played both Cupid and Julius Caesar from 1996 to 2001. These shows were filmed in New Zealand.

He also co-starred in The Chronicles of Riddick with Vin Diesel.

Karl Urban also played John “Reaper” Grimm, one of the lead characters in Universal Pictures’ Doom which was released on October 21, 2005.

In addition to his role in Friday Night Lights, JAY HERNANDEZ (Brian Chavez) can also be seen starring in Disney’s simultaneously released Ladder 49, with John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix. He has also completed filming the lead role for The Nomad, directed by Ivan Passer.

Hernandez most recently starred in the Warner Bros. feature Torque, directed by Joseph Kahn, as one of the lead bikers in this fast-paced adventure set in the world of motorcycle racing; and in Disney’s hit film The Rookie, as Joaquin ‘Wack’ Campos, a student of the real-life baseball pro, Jim Morris, played by Dennis Quaid.

Jay burst onto the scene as the romantic lead starring opposite Kirsten Dunst in crazy/beautiful. Born and raised in Montebello, California, Jay was in Hollywood with his parents when he was “discovered” in the classic movie fashion—the Hernandez family shared an elevator with talent manager, Howard Tyner, who discovered Jay and by the time they reached the lobby, a career had begun. His first acting job was in the independent feature Living the Life.
