Most Talented Actor – Matt Cedeno

Matt Cedeno’s unfailing down to earth inner qualities has always brought an additional shine to his disarmingly stunning looks. Three years in a row, he was nominated for an ALMA award as Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama for his work as Brandon Walker on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives.” He was the only actor from NBC Daytime to be nominated each year.

Cedeno successfully played a young boxer in the feature film “Price of Glory” (Jimmy Smitts plays the same character years later) and he appeared in the highly successful, “The Suburbans” with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ben Stiller. Cedeno completed his fourth year on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,” and continues to be one of the most popular actors on television evident from consistent media reque sts and the thousands of fans who turn out for his public appearances as well as his overwhelming volumes of fan mail!

Cedeno has hosted the NBC afternoon talk show “The Other Half” during their sweeps month and Ellen Degeneris enjoyed his company on her talk show promotion. Cedeno was also seen hosting the Miss All American Latina Pageant through Estylo Entertainment. The pageant is the only national pageant exclusively for college women of Hispanic/Latin decent between the ages of 18-26. Cedeno hosted this show in Spanish and English. Cedeno taught himself Spanish and his command of the language opens him up to more of the Latino media markets. CNN Espanol completed an entire interview with Cedeno in Spanish as did People En Espanol Magazine.

Cedeno is very involved with helping Padres Contra El Cancer which is an organization devoted to helping economically disadvantaged Latino families in Los Angeles County whose children have been diagnosed cancer, most of whom are terminal.

Born in Moses Lake,Washington, Cedeno, of Cuban, Irish/English descent, has always been active in sports and had an aspiring career towards pro football when a debilitating knee injury abruptly put an end to that particular career direction. Renewed inspiration came when Cedeno was approached on his college campus by an acting and modeling manager. Before the school semester ended, he was off to Italy on a modeling assignment for Versace. Cedeno continued to juggle academics and a modeling career in Milan, Spain, New York and Los Angeles. One year after moving to Los Angeles, Cedeno landed a strong theatrical agent and studied with some of the industry’s most respected acting coaches. He continues to study his acting techniques while working and he remains physically active, enjoying sports such as boxing, soccer, baseball, skiing.

Matt Cedeno is recognized by the Hollywood media as one of Hollywood’s hottest rising young stars.

Men’s military fashion trend 2010

Men’s military fashion trend 2010

Military remains in fashion for both men and women in Autumn (Fall) / Winter 2010. But just as this trend has changed for women, so too has it evolved for men. And in exactly the same way. Taking more inspiration from early 20th Century military conflicts, the look takes in both army and air force motifs, with nautical trailing a distant third (that’s relegated more to a preppy trend). Read up on the men’s military clothing trend including details on key looks, pieces and compatible trends.

For King and Country

The men’s military fashion trend is nothing new to us. Revived in 2008/2009 as part of a larger 1980s revival it had, to date, the flamboyant style popularised by the likes of Adam Ant. Not so for Autumn (Fall) / 2010. Ant, in turn, had taken his inspiration from a time when the European superpowers were at their peak, and military uniforms were less about functionality and more about how grand your country was.

The 1980s fashion revival is, however, on the wane. A new decade calls for a new swatch, and the focus on subtlety and quality that I hope will shape the next decade of men’s fashion will see the men’s military trend evolve in 2010 to be far more articulate.

So if the inspiration no longer comes from the 1980s, then when? The Second World War. An era of rationing, clean cuts, functionality, and, of course, the dapper gentleman off to fight for King and Country.

Key Pieces

If you intend to indulge in the 2010 / 2011 interpretation of the men’s military fashion trend there are two key pieces you’ll need:

  1. A greatcoat. Colour choices here sit strongest with Army green and Navy / Air Force navy hues. The greatcoat can be single or double-breasted, and should be detailed with brass buttons. For genuine authenticity, find some antique buttons on eBay and pull out a needle and thread, or simply purchase a vintage piece and have the cut altered accordingly. Further, the greatcoat can be belted or unbelted: it needs only to have a fitted waist.
  2. Aviator boots with shearling

It’s worth nothing that shearling can also be applied to the collar of a greatcoat or an aviator jacket, particularly if you’re trending towards the fighter ace look. Be cautious about moving into the realm of costuming however: being on trend doesn’t translate to looking like you’re off to a fancy dress party dressed as the Red Baron.

Other Trends To Wear It With

One of the great things about this trend is that it is made to be functional; after all, it comes from a era when people could frequently be heard to say “there’s a war on!” Thus the trend can be worn with many a toned down piece, particularly darker colours. As an example, in the trouser department look for solid coloured pants or darker denim. For a touch of flair, look for shiny trousers.

For greatest effect be sure to turn to either of the key 2010 men’s hairstyles: the classic part or the fringe. While the fringe adds a very youthful quality to the look, I’d recommend choosing between the two based solely on what suits your facial shape and hair.

American Actor – Matthew McConaughey

The youngest son of a gas station owner, who ran an oil pipe supply business

and mother – substitute school teacher, Matthew McConaughey was born on November 4, 1969 in Uvalde, Texas, USA, but grew up in Longview, Texas where he graduated from the local High School (1988).

Showing little interest in his father’s oil business, which his two brothers later joined, Matthew was longing for a change of scenery, and spent a year in Australia, washing dishes and shovelling chicken manure. Back to the States, he attended the University of Texas in Austin, originally wishing to be a lawyer. But, when he discovered an inspirational Og Mandino book “The Greatest Salesman in the World” before one of his final exams, he suddenly knew he had to change his major from law to film.

Matthew began his acting career in 1991, appearing in student films and commercials in Texas and directed short films as Chicano Chariots (1992). Once, in his hotel bar in Austin, he met the casting director and producer Don Phillips, who introduced him to director Richard Linklater for his next project. At first, Linklater thought Matthew was too handsome to play the role of a guy chasing high school girls in his coming-of-age drama Dazed and Confused (1993), but cast him after Matthew grew out his hair

and mustache. His character was initially in three scenes but the role grew to more than 300 lines as Linklater encouraged him to do some improvisations.

In 1995, he starred in The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1994), playing a mad bloodthirsty sadistic killer, opposite ‘Renée Zellweger’. Shortly thereafter moving to L.A., Matthew became a sensation with his performances in two high-profile 1996 films Lone Star (1996) where he portrayed killing suspected sheriff and in the film adaptation of John Grisham’s novel A Time to Kill (1996), where he played an idealistic young lawyer opposite Sandra Bullock and Kevin Spacey.

The actor was soon being hailed as one of the industry’s hottest young leading man inspiring comparisons to actor Paul Newman. His following performances were Robert Zemeckis’ Contact (1997) with Jodie Foster (the film was finished just before the death of the great astronomer and popularizer of space science Carl Sagan) and Steven Spielberg’s Amistad (1997), a fact-based 1839 story about the rebellious African slaves. In 1998, he teamed again with Richard Linklater as one of the bank-robbing brothers in The Newton Boys (1998), set in Matthew’s birthplace, Uvalde. During this time, he also wrote, directed and starred in the 20-minute short The Rebel (1998).

Later, in Jonathan Mostow’s U-571 (2000), McConaughey portrayed the officer Lt. Tyler in a WW II story of a daring mission of American submariners, trying to capture the Enigma cipher machine. Matthew also took a part in comedies such as The Wedding Planner (2001), opposite Jennifer Lopez and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) in which he co-starred with Kate Hudson.

His most interesting role was playing Denton Van Zan, an American warrior and dragons hunter in the futuristic thriller Reign of Fire (2002), where he co-starred with another young actor, Christian Bale.
