German Actor – Kostja Ullmann

Kostja Ullmann, born 1984 in Hamburg, is a German actor, best known for his leading role in the award-winning coming of age drama, “Sommersturm” (Summer Storm).


Ullmann entered the stage at the age of eleven and performed at Hamburg’s Ernst-Deutsch-Theater and Winterhuder Fährhaus. In 1998, he made his TV debut in a minor part in the crime series “Alphateam”.

In the following years, Ullmann starred in several minor roles in TV series such as “Stahlnetz”, “Großstadtrevier”, and “SOKO Leipzig” as well as in TV movies such as the drama “Albtraum einer Ehe” (2001) alongside August Zirner.


From 1999 to 2000, he was a cast member of the comedy series “Zwei Männer am Herd” with Wolfgang Fierek and Florian Fitz.

In 2004, Kostja Ullmann made his movie debut in a leading role in Marco Kreuzpaintner’s award-winning film “Sommersturm” (“Summer Storm”). His performance in the romantic TV drama “Heimliche Liebe” about the relationship of a schoolboy and an older woman won Ullmann the “Günther-Strack-Fernsehpreis” as “Best actor” in 2006.


In his second movie, “Verfolgt” (2006), Ullmann stars in a similar role. Directed by Angelina Maccarone, he plays a young delinquent who engages in an “amour fou” with his probation officer who is 30 years older than him. The film won a “Golden Leopard” at the 2006 Locarno International Film Festival.

Eralp Uzun, born July 2, 1981, in Berlin, is a German actor of Turkish descent.


Uzun sstarted his acting career in 1998 in a minor part in the acclaimed German drama “Nachtgestalten” (Night Shapes).

In the following years, Uzun starred in several minor roles in TV series such as “Sternenfänger,” “Schulmädchen,” and the award winning sit-com “Alle lieben Jimmy.”


In 2007, Uzun landed his breakthrough role in the controversial movie “Straight.” He plays Nazim – a closeted gay man trying very hard to keep up an appearance of straightness.

German Actor – Daniel Bruhl

Daniel Brühl, born June 16, 1978, Barcelona, Spain, is a German actor.


Brühl was born in Barcelona, Spain, the son of German stage director Hanno Brühl and a Catalan professor mother. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Cologne, Germany, where he grew up. He was raised in a fully bilingual home, speaks both German and Spanish fluently as well as Catalan.

Brühl began acting at a young age, and made his international breakthrough role in 2003 as Alex Kerner in the Golden Globe-nominated film “Good Bye Lenin!”, which reached an estimated six million cinema-goers world-wide.


In 2003, Brühl won the European Film Academy award trophies for Best Actor (Critics/Audience Awards) for the role. Brühl made his English-speaking film debut in 2004’s Ladies in Lavender. The same year, he won the Peoples Choice trophy for Best Actor in the same award giving body for the film Love in Thoughts while at the same time, he was nominated for Best Actor (critics) for The Edukators. In 2006, he was invited as one of the short film and Cinéfondation juries in the Cannes Film Festival. In September 2006, his Cannes-nominated film Salvador (Puig Antich) premiered in Spain. In the film, he played Salvador Puig Antich, a Catalan anarchist executed in the Franco era.

Brühl’s upcoming projects include the Anglo-Russian production In Transit where he will be playing a young Nazi soldier opposite John Malkovich. In June 2006, he filmed Two Days in Paris, a romantic comedy film which was directed by French actress Julie Delpy who also stars in the film.


Brühl has been offered many projects. He has just finished filming Krabat, based on a popular German children’s story, which will premiere in German cinemas in early 2008. Also, he finished filming the vampire motion picture After Dark, a vampire love story film.
