Model and Actor of German – Mario Maurer

Mario Maurer, born December 4, 1988, in Bangkok, Thailand, is a model and actor of German, Chinese and Thai descent, best known for his lead role in the 2007 gay romance film, “The Love of Siam.”


Maurer attended school at St. Dominic School in Bangkok and in 2008, is studying in Ramkhamhaeng University, majoring in Communication Arts.

At the age of 16, Maurer became a model doing photo shoots, commercials and music videos. In 2007, he made his feature film debut in a leading role in the gay romance “The Love of Siam,” in which he was nominated for an Asian Film Awards in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his performance.


When asked about his kissing scenes with male co-star Witwisit Hirunwongkul in “The Love of Siam,” Maurer said, “I was nervous. I’ve never kissed a man and kissing is not something you do every day.”

Maurer has been nominated for an Asian Film Awards in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his performance in The Love of Siam, but lost to Sun Hong-Lei for Mongol.[6] He won for Best Actor in Starpics Thai Films Awards and also nominated in Bangkok Critics Assembly and Star Entertainment Awards.


Maurer has been cast in the 2008 film by Chatchai Naksuriya,”Friendship.” His next role will be in Piti Jaturapat’s “Roommate,” adapted from Andrew Fleming’s 1994 American Film “Threesome.”

African American Actor – Larenz Tate

Larenz Tate, born September 8, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois, is an African American actor. He has starred in movies such as Menace II Society, The Inkwell, A Man Apart and Dead Presidents. He is the youngest of the three Tate Brothers.


In a relatively short span of time, Larenz Tate has earned a reputation as one of the most promising young actors in Hollywood. He has been noted for his fine performances, including a Best Actor NAACP Image Award nomination for his role in Theodore Witcher’s “Love Jones”. Tate starred opposite Nia Long in this love story which won the Audience Award for Best Film at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. Tate also received the Best Actor Award in 1999 at the Acapulco Black Film Festival for his portrayal as the 1950’s doo wop singer Frankie Lymon in “Why Do Fools Fall in Love.” The Warner Bros. film also starred Halle Berry, Lela Rochon, and Vivica A. Fox.

Larenz made his feature film debut in the Allen and Albert Hughes drama “Menace II Society”, followed by starring roles in the “Inkwell”, “Dead Presidents”, Ashanti’s “Rain On Me” music video and appearing in the critically acclaimed “Ray” starring Jamie Foxx.


Tate’s aspirations go beyond being in front of the camera to producing behind the scenes. He now adds Executive Producer to his credits for the Independent feature film “Love Come Down” which stars Tate and R & B singer Deborah Cox.

Larenz along with brothers Lahmard & Larron Tate wrote, produced, directed, and financed their indie comedy “The Hot Spot” straight to DVD through Xenon Pictures.

American Actor – Joey Kern

Joey Kern, born September 5, 1976 in Kentucky, is an American actor, most widely known for his roles in the 2003 films Cabin Fever and Grind.


Kern was raised in Northern Kentucky in the towns of Florence, Kentucky and Independence, Kentucky. He graduated from St. Xavier High School and studied at New York University, earning his BFA in drama. While at NYU he studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Kern started acting on stage with various companies such as Atlantic Theater Company, New Group Theater and Theatre for a New Audience, where he played the title role of Troilus in Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida directed by Sir Peter Hall.


His feature film debut came in 1999 with the film Die Jungfrau (The Virgin), an Austrian film that cast Kern out of New York City. He had a guest appearance on the HBO series Sex and the City followed by a memorable role in the Broken Lizards 2001 movie Super Troopers as one of the stoners. He had a few more roles in some indie films but his career really took off in 2002 with the movie Cabin Fever and then in 2003 when Grind was released.

Kern currently has 5 movies in post-production, including The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang, All the Days Before Tomorrow, and One Part Sugar.
